EllaOne 30mg, also known as ulipristal, is a pharmacist only medicine used for emergency contraception. It comes in a single tablet that aids in preventing unwanted pregnancy. All users are advised to contact a pharmacist after purchase to ensure the product is appropriate for usage.

Warnings

Do not use:

• if you are already pregnant. Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you are unsure.
• more than once during the same menstrual cycle. Consider using other contraceptive methods before sex.

• are breastfeeding.

How it works

The emergency contraceptive pill works by inhibiting or delaying ovulation. This means that sperm are unable to fertilise the egg and a possible pregnancy is prevented. If you are already pregnant,  however, then the emergency contraceptive pill won’t interrupt or impact your pregnancy.

Dosage

The tablet is to be taken orally as soon as possible, but within 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.
