Lipidil 145mg 30 Tablets are indicated for hypercholesterolaemia and hypertriglyceridemia, where diet alone has not been sufficient and where there is no therapeutic alternative. Fenofibrate, the active ingredient improves cholesterol and triglyceride levels. A valid Australian prescription is required.

Warnings

Fenofibrate, the active ingredient in Lipidil is effective in reducing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), total cholesterol, triglycerides, and apolipoprotein B, and in increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in patients with hypercholesterolaemia and hypertriglyceridemia.

How it works

Fenofibrate helps to reduce cholesterol and triglycerides (fatty acids) in the blood. High levels of these types of fat in the blood can cause coronary diseases (clogged arteries).

Dosage

Take this medication by mouth with food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. Your doctor may direct you to start this medication at a low dose and gradually increase your dose to decrease the risk of side effects such as pancreatitis and gallstones.
