Overview

Otrivin Adult Nasal Spray is a fast acting nasal decongestant that offers relief from blocked or runny nose caused by cold, flu, sinusitis, hay fever or other allergic rhinitis. Suitable for adults and children over 12 years of age. 

Warnings

Not recommended for children under 12 years. If you are allergic to Xylometazoline or any other ingredients of this medicine, have had recent operations through the nose or mouth, or have inflammatory nasal dryness, avoid using Otrivin. If signs of allergy or irritation occur, discontinue use. Always consult a doctor or pharmacist if you're pregnant, breast-feeding, have any other medical conditions or are taking other medicines.

Do not use Otrivin:

• If under 12 years.
• If you are allergic to Xylometazoline or any other ingredients of this medicine. 
• After recent operations through the nose or mouth.
• If you have inflammatory nasal dryness.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use:

• If you are pregnant or breast feeding or trying to become pregnant.
• If you have any other medical conditions.
• If you are taking other medicines.

Warnings & cautions:

• If congestion persists for more than 3 days, seek medical advice
• Do not use for more than 3 days unless advised by a pharmacist or doctor
• Each pack should be used by only one person, for reasons of hygiene
• Brief stinging sensation or sneezing may occur
• Excessive use may damage lining of nose
• If irritation occurs or if you have signs of allergy, discontinue use
• Do not use in or around the eyes.

Caution: Keep out of reach of children.

• If you have narrow angle glaucoma.
• If you have inflammatory nasal dryness. 

Ingredients

• Measured dose Xylometazoline Hydrochloride 1mg/ml
• Contains: Benzalkonium chloride as a preservative

Dosage

For Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 spray per nostril. Use 2 to 3 times daily, as needed. 

1. Before first use, remove protective cap and press applicator until an even spray is produced

2. You may need to repeat this if you have not used the spray for longer than 6 days.

3. Do not cut the nozzle

4. Blow nose gently to clear

5. Insert nozzle into nostril and press applicator firmly once while sniffing deeply

6. Withdraw nozzle and release applicator

7. Repeat in other nostril

8. Wipe nozzle clean and replace cap

Usage Advice

Use Otrivin for: Fast relief of a blocked or runny nose caused by colds, flu, sinusitis, hay fever or other allergic rhinitis.

Who can use Otrivin: Adults and children 12 years and over. Otrivin Junior is available for children aged 6-11 years.

Do not use more often than every 8-10 hours.

Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
